Much discussion in the Media industry centres around the BIG AGENCY NETWORKS, their views of the world, their agendas, clients issues with them, and how these networks are aiming to be more agile, flexible, responsive, and 'fill in your own word here'.
However, little discussion or focus is placed on the smaller independent media agencies. Which is a big loss, as change for this industry is as likely to come from the more nimble smaller agency, than from the agency networks...if not more likely.
So here is a little step to redress the balance.
At the Festival of Media, Paul Bay (founder of citizenbay) met Jim Price, CEO of Empower, the independent media agency based in Cincinnati USA. I asked Jim to contribute to a manifesto for change for the media industry. It was fascinating to hear how an independent media agency is adapting to the challenges that face the industry.
